Bible Book Study Resources
Helping You Know, Understand, and Apply God’s Word
Comprehensive, book-by-book study resources designed to help you understand Scripture in its biblical, historical, geographical, literary, and theological context—while keeping God’s Word at the center.
Study the Bible. Not Just Someone’s Notes About It.
The Bible was written to be read, understood, and applied by every believer. Yet, many people feel overwhelmed when they sit down to study it. They aren’t sure where to start, how to connect the pieces, or how to handle difficult passages.
Too often, we turn to commentaries or devotionals before we even look at the text ourselves. While those tools have their place, they should never replace personal, direct interaction with God’s Word.
Rooted Disciple Study Guides provide the essential background, structure, and context you need to study the Bible for yourself. Our goal isn’t to give you all the answers, but to help you ask the right questions and see the text more clearly.
These resources are not intended to replace your Bible. They are designed to help you study it.

We want these resources to help you study the Bible—not simply tell you what someone else thinks it says.
Scripture Comes First
The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, authoritative Word of God.
Our resources explore history, archaeology, culture, and biblical languages to help us see things in the text we would otherwise miss. However, these academic and historical areas of study are not at the center.
We have not centered these guides on what someone thinks about the Bible, but on the Bible itself.
Human scholarship is valuable, but fallible.
Scripture is not.
The Bible stands alone as God’s special revelation to humanity. It is the filter through which all other claims of truth must pass. Everything else, from theology and philosophy to history and science, must bow to the authority of the Word of God.
Because God’s Word is the foundation of truth, we approach study with both deep academic rigor and profound spiritual humility, knowing that while we study the Word, the Word is also judging the thoughts and intentions of our hearts.
Learn to Study the Bible for Yourself
The ultimate goal of these study resources is not to build your library or your intellectual storehouse, but to equip you to study God’s Word for yourself. We use a simple but profound three-step approach to studying Scripture.
What should I do with what God has said?
01 — OBSERVATION
What does it say?
We begin by looking closely at the text itself—noticing the words, the grammar, the literary structure, and the repeated themes to see exactly what the author has written.
02 — INTERPRETATION
What does it mean?
Next, we seek to understand the meaning of the text within its original biblical, historical, and theological context, asking what the Holy Spirit intended to communicate through the human author.
03 — APPLICATION
What should I do?
Finally, we respond to the truth of God’s Word, asking how this passage should change our thinking, our affections, and our actions as we submit to the lordship of Christ.
The goal is not merely to know more about the Bible. The goal is to know God’s Word, obey it, and become increasingly equipped to help others do the same.
These resources are not the destination.
God’s Word is.

Open Your Bible.
These resources are tools, but they are not the source. They are meant to be used alongside your Bible, pointing you back to the text, not drawing you away from it. The goal is to help you see the wonder of God’s Word more clearly so that you can know Him more deeply.
Study carefully.
Ask questions.
Follow the evidence in the text.
Above all, let Scripture speak.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Psalm 119:105
